Talk³ is a private voice check-in and personal tracking app. It does not sell personal data or use data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
The app may handle tracker answers, written or spoken check-in content, assistant settings, reminder schedules, approximate or precise locations chosen for location reminders, motion-trigger preferences, a store purchase entitlement, and technical identifiers needed for notifications and the automatically created device account.
Tracker history and customization are stored on the user’s device. An OpenAI API key supplied by the user is stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore and is sent only to OpenAI when the user chooses own-key access. Talk³ servers store an opaque device-account token, purchase entitlement, scheduled-call configuration, notification token, monthly AI-usage totals for subscription allowance enforcement, and the minimum reminder information needed to deliver scheduled calls.
When a voice or AI check-in is used, relevant audio, transcripts, tracker definitions, instructions, and limited recent check-in context may be sent to OpenAI to generate the interaction. Talk³ does not use this content to train its own models. OpenAI processes it under its applicable API terms and data controls.
Talk³ uses Apple or Google for app distribution, purchases and device notifications; OpenAI for AI voice, transcription and speech services; and Hetzner-hosted infrastructure for the Talk³ API and scheduled-call delivery. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own terms.
On-device history remains until the user deletes it or deletes the app. Server account, call schedules, notification identifiers and purchase records remain while the account is active. The user can choose More → Privacy & account → Delete account and data to delete the automatically created Talk³ account and associated server data, plus Talk³ data stored by the app on that device. Records that must be retained to meet legal, fraud-prevention, tax or accounting obligations may be retained only for the required period.
Deleting a Talk³ account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Subscriptions are managed through the store account used to purchase them.
Microphone access is used for calls and voice notes. Notifications and, on supported devices, VoIP registration are used for scheduled alerts and incoming calls. Location and motion access are used only when the user enables travel or place-based reminders. Permissions can be changed in the device’s Settings app.
Talk³ uses encrypted network connections. Users can use Talk³ Plus without placing an OpenAI secret on the device, or choose own-key access. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free.
